Prof. Ari Kuncoro is the rector of Universitas Indonesia. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies. He was the former Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Indonesia (FEB UI) (2013-2019). He started his academic career in 1986 as a research assistant at the Institute for Economic and Social Research (LPEM FEB UI), In 1996, he was promoted as a Senior Research Associate at the Institute. In the past, he has held position as the secretary of Graduate Program of Economics, Universitas Indonesia and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs of FEB UI.
Prof. Ari Kuncoro is a prominent scholar with international reputation. His research interests are development economics, urban economics, and industrial organization. He has published academic articles in quality international journals such as Journal of Political Economy, Bulletin of Indonesia Economic Studies, Journal of Development Economics, and World Bank Economic Review.
Prof. Ari Kuncoro obtained his bachelor degree in economics (monetary economics) from Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Indonesia (FEB UI), master of arts from University of Minnesota and Ph.D degree in Economics from Brown University.
